It’s amazing how their beauty can rendered with a few strokes of a pencil. Not all of it of course. Angel knows no artist could ever capture the delicious post-coital glow of nina, nor the beautiful darkness behind Darla’s smile. And he’s just a guy who’s had a few centuries with paper and art implements.

Still, he does his best. He draws them in shadow, bodies entwined and hands reaching places he knows so well. If he stops drawing and closes his eyes, he can almost taste the sweetness of bodies long gone.

And sometimes, when Angel misses them the most, he adds a third figure to the drawings, made out of male flesh defined with his sharpest pencil (he’s probably making himself look better, but he’s the artist after all) and ink lines on one shoulder. Together, the three figures act on a paper reality where love is relative and pleasure is eternal.
